Because of its strength, size and influence, the BNTU is represented on a number of important statutory bodies in the country of Belize. These are mostly related to Educational, Trade Union and other matters e.g. National Council for Education (NCE), Belize Teaching Service Commission(TSC) and the Belize Board of Teacher Educational (BBTE).

One of its chief machinery/agency for making representation and consultation with Government and School Managements is the Joint Education Staff Relations Council (JESRC); made up equally of three members from the three constituent bodies (Ministry of Education, Church-School Managements and BNTU). The Union also meets and makes separate representation with these authorities (employers). BNTU is also represented on the new District Education Councils in each district of our country.
