Corozal Town President Message

Greeting my fellow brothers and sisters of our great   union! I want to thank all members of the Corozal Town branch who voted for me to serve as your President  for the next two years. I am a career educator who has been in the union for the past 26 years. I strongly  believe in the mission and vision of the union and stand committed to carry them out. I want you to know that I will work collaboratively with the Corozal Town Branch Executive, branch members and the National Executive to ensure that the goals and objectives of the union are met. I believe in shared leadership so every member’s voice and concerns will be taken into account.

We live in unprecedented times with so many  challenges facing our nation and union. We’re all concerned about keeping ourselves and our loved ones safe, and for many of us it’s also a time of worry and uncertainty about our incomes and job security. Our  union is here to help us stand together when times are tough – protecting our lives and our livelihoods. As educators we are aware that change is a process and it is inevitable but also, as a union, we must guard the change process in education and national development to ensure that it is fair and equitable to all. I urge all members and prospective members to always remember the BNTU is our union. Let’s keep our union strong!

Solidarity forever!

Sincerely yours,

Roque Vellos
