Greetings to all Belmopan Belize National Teachers Union members, it is my pleasure to address you. I would like to extend my heartfelt thank you for entrusting me with the leadership of our branch.

“I would rather be a dead hero than a living coward,” Mr. Antonio Soberanis Gomez. His words are established by us, the fighting members of BNTU. Thanks to all the teachers who always put aside  anything to stand with us during our fights. To those who are yet afraid let’s unite, that is because united we stand, and divided we fall. If all our 200+ members would stand against corruption and wrong doings, nobody, I repeat nobody can stand or fight against us. Let us put aside our selfishness, political affiliations and desires to fight together for a just cause.

To our teachers who are not yet members, I humbly ask that you find it in your heart to consider joining us. If we the members decide to get out of the union, then there will be no union and no betterment for us the teachers and to a larger extent public officers. My only wish is to see 100% of our teachers join the union, for it is just and serves as our weapon against negative self-righteous employers. Teachers, never give up on our union because if we do, who will be there to challenge wrong doings against us? Like we chanted, “If not us, who? If not now, When?” I want to leave you all with a pearl of wisdom I heard from Mr. Anthony Sabal, “If it is to be it is up to me.” Solidarity forever! Teechaz Ga Yo Bak!!!!!!!!!!
